Objetivos

Nuestra línea de investigación se centra en identificar nuevos mecanismos de resistencia desarrollados por células cancerígenas a las terapias convencionales con el fin último de identificar y validar dianas terapéuticas que permitan diseñar nuevos tratamientos. Abordaremos este estudio desde una triple perpectiva: estudio de las vías de transducción de señales que controlan los procesos moleculares implicados en la progresión tumoral; análisis de las modificaciones epigenéticas responsables de los distintos patrones de expresión que se detectan durante esta progresión y en tercer lugar el estudio, a nivel molecular, de la autofagia y el metabolismo oxidativo, dos procesos celulares que se ven alterados en el desarrollo del cáncer y, cuya modulación, podría ser clave para identificar vulnerabilidades de las células tumorales más resistentes y, de esta manera, poder eliminarlas.
